SkillUp Culpeper is a workforce training initiative built alongside Culpeper’s business community. We worked directly with major local employers to understand the specific needs within their workforce, then developed personalized training designed to meet them. Delivered free of charge and in community for Culpeper businesses.
SkillUp Culpeper currently includes two training series: Emerging Leaders and Thrive at Work. Several businesses have enrolled employees in both series, investing in their workforce at every level, from the floor to the front office.
Emerging Leaders Series

Developed in partnership with Germanna Community College’s workforce division, Emerging Leaders is a supervisory training built for new and developing supervisors — the employees being promoted into leadership.
The series runs as two sessions spaced four weeks apart, giving participants time to put new skills into practice before returning to build on them. Cohorts are limited to 20 participants to keep engagement quality high.
“I have noticed a great change in how all three have interacted with their teams. All three are putting the learned skills into use.”
Thrive at Work Series

Thrive at Work is a four-week, activity-based program designed for your general workforce. Through hands-on activities, real workplace scenarios, and interactive learning, participants build skills in professionalism, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and work ethic. Cohorts of 15 employees from a variety of employers, participant in individual, small group, and full-cohort activities. The program culminates in a certification — a motivator for employees and a basis for internal recognition.
Thrive at Work is currently offered twice a year: a morning cohort in the spring and an afternoon cohort in the fall, giving employers with multiple shifts the flexibility to participate.
